IRREGULAR LIVING HISTORY LESSONS IN THE KASSAI VALLEY
These irregular history classes have been organised since 1990 and they include bow making and giving demonstrations of the exciting lifestyle and fighting skills during the period of the great migration of people.
Visitors may wish to see the bow – shop, where both ancient skills and modern technology are used in harmony making bows, arrows and equestrian archery saddles. The programme of the group then continues in the valley.
The valley is a 15 ha area, the world centre for equestrian archery, the venue for international competitions and training camps.
The 12 horses specially trained for equestrian archery are kept in the open air all year round and are allowed to roam freely.
A spirited presentation shows visitors the highest level of equestrian archery.
The saddle, the harness and the weapons are all evocative of our ancient history.
Part of the programme includes the possibility for everyone who wishes to jump on a horse and ride a circle and to try their hand at using the special bow and arrow which caused fear in the heart of the Magyar enemy.
The finale takes place in the so called yurt, unique in Europe, a real museum piece of 17o years, a nomadic tent of tribes-people where there is an interactive discussion about the ancient lifestyle, economy and fighting skills which they have glimpsed. The whole programme lasts 2 hours.
These irregular lessons are held both for children and adult groups. In order to take these lessons you have to make your registration at phone: +36-82-477-061 or e-mail: kassai@lovasijaszat.hu
