Open Day at the Kassai Valley

Since 1988 on every month’s first Saturday the valley welcomes those who possess a Kassai bow, no matter what the weather conditions are. This service is the basis of today’s international horseback archery school.


Accessibility

A sideroad of poor quality off the main road (road 61, Rákóczi str. between numbers 114 and 116) of Kaposmérő leads to the valley. After 800 meters you will find a parking sign in front of the entrance to the valley.

Entrance fee for the open day

For children 3 €, for adults 6 €.
 
Those who posses a Kassai bow may use these the whole day at the appointed areas in accordance with the strict safety rules.

The training demonstrations start at 11. 00 at the outdoor or indoor riding arena and will end around 13. 00 o’clock. The aim of the demonstrations is that the visitors get the most rounded view of the educational system of the Kassai School and of the valley’s life.

After the demonstrations we wait all those people in the yurt who have questions about horseback archery.

The mother tongue of horseback archery is Hungarian, all over the world the trainings are held in Hungarian. International communication is conducted in English.Today’s international members are: Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, USA, Austria, Canada, New Zealand, Norway, United Kingdom, China and Greece.

Some advice
-          In case of rain be aware as a guest that it may be very muddy.
-
          It is recommended to bring food and drinks.
-
          At several points in the valley there are tables and benches, which can be used.

          Fire may only be lit at the appointed fireplaces.
-
          There are no garbage bins, we ask everyone not to leave any garbage behind.

          In case of any questions, turn to the horseback archers wearing green or claret kaftans.

 The school keeps itself away from any political and religious tendencies, and wishes not to become the scene of     disputes concerning this matter.
